How do I create a new metadata set in Prostream?

Creating metadata sets

Metadata are data that describe the characteristics of certain data. So they are actually data about data. The metadata for a certain document can be, for example: the author, the date of writing, the number of pages and the language in which the data is written. Explicitly storing metadata with relevant data in digital format has the advantage that the data can be found more easily.

With metadata you give documents valuable context. By means of sets, you can ensure that all documents in a folder can be provided with extra properties (items) that are relevant to your workflow.

Create metadata set in My Overview

Click on the icon of Metadata (downwards arrow) on your home screen in My Overview. Choose New metadata set. Enter a name for the new metadata set and add one or more metadata items if necessary. You can now save the metadata set as a draft (for later editing, a concept version) or for final publication. The metadata set is then visible in the initial screen of your sets.

Create a metadata set in a project

Select the project to which you want to add a metadata set. Click on Manage and then on the Metadata icon. Now follow the same steps as described above. Your metadata set will now apply to your project folders.
