What does changing the permissions in Prostream entail?

From February 1, 2024, the permissions settings in your Prostream environment will be changed.

What does this mean for me?

We move from the most restrictive right that a person or group has within a project or folder, to the most liberal right.

In the current situation, a user gets the least number of rights. Now if a user has permissions to see and edit files in a subfolder, but does not have those permissions on a parent folder, they would not see the subfolder. The same applied to groups: if an individual user had permissions to a folder, but the group he was a part of did not, the user still could not see the folder.

This is reversed. Users with the rights set up as described above will be given rights to view or edit folders. This also applies to groups.

This gives users the rights that are personally granted to them, regardless of what has been determined for parent folders or groups.

These rights are configured in the same way as in Docstream. This makes it easier to switch from Docstream to Prostream.

When will this change be implemented?

1st of February, 2024.

What do I have to do?

We have already contacted your organization manager. Do you have any questions? Please contact our support team.

Before implementing this change, we investigated which organizations this will have an impact on. They have been contacted as this means users will see more files than before the change.

Other organizations do not need to take action.
